The IPS, founded in 1898, is comprised of pharmacists and pharmacy students of Italian heritage who practice in various settings. The IPS is an ethnic affiliate of the Pharmacists Society of the State of New York. Several IPS members serve as PSSNY officers and actively participate in PSSNY. The IPS holds monthly Dinner Meetings throughout the year, with the exception of July and August. The organization also holds an Annual Christmas party in December as well as an Annual Dinner Dance in March.

The Objectives of the IPS:

• Attain positive legislation in order improve the practice of pharmacy through active participation in PSSNY.
  
• Increase membership and improve communication among pharmacists.
  
• Educate members with CE Programs and Presentations on medication and other pharmacy related topics.
  
• Serve as a networking group for pharmacists in the state of New York who share a common cultural background.
  
• Provide incentives, support and opportunities for younger pharmacists and students.
