For the second time, a New York State Assembly member is calling on the U.S. Dept. of Justice to block the CVS-Aetna merger. Assemblymember Anthony Brindisi will address journalists, patients and community members at Parkway Drugs in Utica, NY. Parkway owner and and PSSNY Member, Vincent Chiffy will also speak at the conference.
New York joins California in opposing the CVS-Aetna merger. In June, the New York State Assembly held a hearing to review the merger, hearing testimony from CVS, Aetna, PSSNY, and the Medical Society of the State of New York. Concluding the newly merged entity would be "too big to regulate", the Assembly came out against the merger.
