EMAIL YOUR SENATOR and ASSEMBLY MEMBER THIS WEEK ASK THEM TO REJECT the proposed Medicaid cut for pharmacy in the State Budget. The governor's budget proposal would allow the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) to develop a list of 'specialty drugs' and design a new LOWER reimbursement model. The proposal, which would go into effect on October 1, 2016claims a savings of $1.8 million to the state for the first six months. This proposal would first reduce reimbursement for brand drugs in Fee for Service. NYSDOH stated it then plans to use the new LOWER brand reimbursement to reduce Medicaid Managed Care costs. Our fear is that commercial insurances would follow suit. THIS PROPOSAL MUST BE DEFEATED.
