COVID-19 Resources for Pharmacists
Resources for Pharmacists on COVID-19

PSSNY is aware of other state boards of pharmacy issuing guidance for their pharmacists regarding the COVID-19 situation, regulations, and continuity of care of patient. Keep in mind that according to the NYS Office of the Professions, our State Board of Pharmacy has an advisory capacity to the Board of Regents, not a regulatory role. Therefore, any changes in procedures for the practice of pharmacy during the state of emergency must come from the State Education Department, not from our SBOP. As of this writing, no advisories have been issued by SED for pharmacy. We have been advised to consult the CDC and NYS DOH websites for accurate information and updates.

Below is a listing of the most comprehensive resources to assist you in your practice through this pandemic.

  • COVID-19 Virtual Town Hall: The Role of Pharmacists
Assemblymember McDonald and panelist of experts as they discuss the role of pharmacists in the COVID-19 pandemic.  Recording available here.
  • PSSNY leadership has written to Covernor Cuomo requesting an Executive Order to mobilize the pharmacist workforce during the COVID-19 Emergency and ultimately service our patients (as providers and clinicians).  Read the letter here.

PSSNY will continue to support pharmacists in your profession, in the same way that you continue to support your patients! Please contact us at staff@pssny.org  or 518-869-6595 with questions.
