Target Audience: Pharmacists and student pharmacists in all practice settings.

At the completion of the activity, the participant will be able to:

· Identify upcoming legislative issues and their potential pharmacy practice in NYS;

· Discuss the present-day opioid epidemic nationally and in NYS including the NYS Opioid Stewardship Act of 2018;

· Summarize current regulations concerning electronic prescribing in New York State;

· Explain requirements for immunizations using auxiliary personnel;

· Review updated regulations concerning controlled substances including medical marijuana;

· Review the pharmacist responsibility for Medicaid prescription under the False Claims Act.

The Pharmacists Society of the State of New York is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

Attendees must sign in, attend the full activity and within 7 days complete the program survey and evaluation for continuing education credit. Within two weeks of completion, your attendance will be submitted to NABP CPE Monitor.
