At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

- Define the role of DEA Diversion personnel who enforce pharmaceutical federal laws under the Controlled Substances Act and DEA regulations;

- Identify the methods used by the DEA to account for controlled substance theft or diversion in the pharmacy;

- Describe each element of a DEA Computation Chart used to establish shortages and overages of controlled substances;

- Identify the required records used in the DEA accountability investigation and the need to have such required readily retrievable from other records.
